Hospitality is one of those professions that most of us experience almost every day, yet very little thought is given to the people working behind the scenes to make that experience possible. Photographing the team at Brewhouse & Kitchen gave me the opportunity to document the rhythm and teamwork involved in keeping a busy pub running.
Throughout the shoot, I focused on the moments that customers rarely notice, food being brought out, drinks being poured and the constant communication between staff. Every role contributes to the overall experience, with each person relying on the next to keep everything running smoothly.
As part of Made By Hand: An Insight Into The Hidden Paths Across Our Palms, this series explores the invisible labour within hospitality. While visitors remember a good meal or a perfectly poured pint, they rarely see the preparation, coordination and dedication that happens behind the scenes. Through these photographs, I wanted to celebrate the people whose hard work creates those everyday experiences.
