Meeting Amy gave me a completely different perspective on floristry. Rather than arranging flowers, Amy grows them herself, nurturing each stem from seed to bloom before they ever become part of a bouquet. Visiting Grandma's Garden allowed me to see just how much time, patience and physical work goes into producing seasonal British flowers.
Throughout the shoot, I wanted to document the relationship between grower and garden. Rather than focusing solely on the flowers themselves, I photographed the hands that sow, cut, carry and care for them every day. The changing weather, the soil, and the constant maintenance all become part of the creative process, reminding me that beautiful flowers begin long before they reach a vase.
As part of Made By Hand: An Insight Into The Hidden Paths Across Our Palms, this series explores one of the earliest stages of craftsmanship. Every bouquet begins in the hands of someone willing to nurture it, often months before it is ever purchased or admired. Through these photographs, I wanted to celebrate the dedication, resilience and quiet labour that allows nature to flourish.
